| Hope, 15 Jenna Black Shadowspell Griffin 2011 In this sequel to Glimmerglass, sixteen-year old Dana Hathaway is learning how to live in Avalon. Avalon is the only place on earth where Fae and mortals can live side-by-side. Dana is a Faeriewalker, a half-human/half Fae capable of taking magic into the mortal world or technology into the Fae world. The two Queens of Faerie are terrified of her ability to bring in guns -the only thing that could kill them- in Faerie and want Dana dead. Between normal teen troubles and magical hitmen trying to kill her, Dana's life couldn't get more complicated. That is, until a nightmarish immortal named the Erlking kidnaps someone very close to her; Dana is pitted against the most terrifying situation she has ever faced. If only the Erlking wasn't so handsome... I personally enjoyed this novel more then the first one, and am looking forward to the next installment. This is definitely a readable novel for a modern-day fantasy fan. Rating: 4 Better than most ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Student at DYC | ||

| My review: | Dana Hathaway, the same kind of teen that everyone knows, except that she has a dark secret that she doesn't share with ANYONE...her mom is a drunk. She wants to be free of this, so she contacts her dad, who willingly accepts. When she arrives, she is taken hostage by her aunt for her "own good", gets kidnapped and is attacked in the sewers, and finds out that she is a Fairie walker....Fairies don't excist....or do they? | ||

Lena lost her mother when she was only a girl and now she's digging up her past. Why doesn't her dad want her to surf when they live right next to the best surfing place ever? Delightful and light fare but quickly read, both because its easy to read and because you're reluctant to put it down. Teens are depicted more accurately than most teen-lit.
Rating: 4. Better than most.

Wherever Nina Lies by Lynn Weingarten (2 reviews)
Author Lynn Weingarten
Title Wherever Nina Lies
Publisher
Publication date 2009
My review: Wherever Nina Lies is a corageous story of a young girl, Ellie hopelessly searching for her missing sister Nina. Nina has been gone for 2 years now and Ellie has not given up hope of finding her. She looks everywhere for clues to finding Nina. All of Ellies friends worry about her and think its time for her to give up. Ellie refuses however. A clue leads her to a massive party where she meets a mysterious, and cute stranger, Sean, who is willing to embark on a cross country road trip in search of Nina. Along the way Ellie finds herself falling for Sean but soon realizes there is much more to him that meets the eye and his motives are far from pure. This story is filled with crazy twists and turns that makes it nearly impossiple not to turn another page. I absolutly loved this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good story to read.
