She packs her bags and heads to Avalon, where magic and technology can co-exist. Dana's father is a high-ranking member of the Fae; that much she knows. But it isn't until she arrives she realizes how high-up he really is. Swept up in a struggle for power, Dana uncovers a secret about herself and her entire family heritage. She is a Faeriewalker, able to travel to the land of mortals, or to the land of Faerie. As if that wasn't enough on it's own, everyone is out to use her power for thier own gain. This is a fairly good book and I will definitely read the next in the series.

Claire Voyante (Don't fault her for it, it's not her fault her parents named her absent mindedly) has never been the popular girl at Hudson High, also known as the school of the smart. But that's okay with her. She has her best friend Becca (who has an insanly cute brother) and her dream adventures. It appears that Claire's ultra-chic (in the 30's) grandmother Kiki has passed on to her a cameo necklace that sharpens the power to dream things that are going to happen in life. But here's the catch: they aren't clear. For example, if she needs help with a problem, and the solution involves a cell phone, she will have a black and white dream about an apple. As if her double-meaning dreams aren't weird enough, Claire begins to feel that Becca is ditching her for a secret society called the Blue Moons. Even when Claire is invited to join, what the club actually does is still mysterious. And they have secret enemies. And now, it seems Claire is in not so mysterious danger. This book was fun and interesting.

Cirque du Freak Tunnels of Blood (Manga)

This book made me think while I was reading and when I was attached to one twist it would turn so I was never bored. This book involves a vampire and a young boy who has been blooded but this young man must decide who's life to give, his best friends or his girlfriend and the one making him do this is a crazed blood thirsty vampire named Murlogh.

I want to read more from this series because so far both books are super intense.

Cover comments: It doesn't look like it reflects to what the story is about. The reason she she put her finger to her mouth is that it means she will not tell no lies while telling her story.

Poisoned Honey

Describe the most compelling aspect of the book: Many books mention Mary Magdalene as some sort of forgiven tramp, or hide her story in layers of conspericy. While those books have their place, it was refreshing to read a story about her that broke that mold.
Should this be nominated for Teens' Top Ten? Why? Yes. This book is a spine-tingling look at Mary Magdalene's life, (without a lot of conspericy) while taking you on a breathless ride through her transformation from the little sister of a bulley, the wife of an old cruel man, to madwoman, to being cleansed by the man who changed the world.
Rating? 5 Hard to imagine a better book

Poisoned Honey is a breathtakingly written novel that delivers a powerful message through the story of Mary Magdelene: We all do have a higher purpose, and it is never to late to be who you were ment to be. Mariamne was a typical Jewish girl growing up, back when the Romans had control. As a girl, she would wed at an early age and become the mistress of her own house, be submissive to her husband, and obey whatever she was told to do. But Mari wasn't completly typical. She could see visions, and hear voices of sparrows. Her stories were written off by her family as flights of imagination. At 13, she is betrothed to a handsome young man in the village, and all seems perfect. On the day before her wedding, the prophetess Mariyam, for whom Mari is named, appears to her and tells Mari she has a high purpose. But that very day, a sickness breaks out, claiming Mari's father and betrothed. Soon after, her bullyish brother engages her to a man she hates. After the wedding, she is unwelcome in his house, it seems. But an Egyptian wise woman teaches her a trick; she can enter the spirit world (where she has complete control). Soon, her 'friends' from the spirit realm come to her in the real world. People begin to think she's mad. Then the truth dawns of her: she is possessed. She has become poisoned honey. There are rumors of a man who can heal her. But will the seven demons controlling her kill her before she can get there?
Cover comments: The cover was beautiful. I loved it. It really sparked the imagination.

By The Time You Read This, I'll Be Dead
Disney 2010

I just finished ready this book. Just the title of the book says a lot about what to expect. The book is about a misunderstood suicidal teen who does not speak and wears a neck brace because of her previous failed attempt. Though she never tells anyone, she is planning to do it again.  This time without failure. The book focuses on the 21 days she gives herself to be ready to end her life, and the events leading to her "Day of Determination". Overall this book is a good read and I would recommend it. I read a couple books a year.

Rating 4 Q. Better than most.

This book was extremely relateable throughout it's depressing features, helping build a relation to what was happening. Although the book showed many of the dark aspects that happen in lives, it was an amazing experience throughout and a great change for readers to experience.

Cover comments: The cover gives a good view into the loneliness of the book and reflects upon it's contents.
